    Ferrari World Abu Dhabi appointed Evolution Scenic to design and fabricate a scaled-down, cartoon-inspired replica of the Ferrari Daytona SP3 for a live theme park performance.


    The objective was to capture the unmistakable character of Ferrari's flagship supercar while introducing a playful, theatrical interpretation suitable for live entertainment. The vehicle needed to accommodate three performers, operate safely within a confined stage environment and deliver reliable performance throughout the production.

    The Challenge


    Recreating one of Ferrari's most recognisable vehicles for live entertainment required a careful balance between visual authenticity, engineering and functionality.


    The replica needed to faithfully reflect the design language of the Ferrari Daytona SP3 while remaining lightweight, manoeuvrable and safe for performers. Limited stage space demanded exceptional manoeuvrability, requiring the vehicle to pivot within tight operating areas while maintaining smooth and precise movement.


    The project also required a durable finish capable of withstanding repeated performances, together with an integrated power and control system that ensured safe and reliable operation.

    The Solution


    Evolution Scenic designed and fabricated a fully custom, scaled-down Ferrari Daytona SP3 replica, combining creative fabrication with specialist engineering and technical integration.


    The vehicle was initially sculpted from lightweight styrofoam, allowing the design team to accurately recreate the car's distinctive bodywork while minimizing overall weight. The prototype was then reinforced using fiberglass and resin, producing a durable, high-quality finish suitable for regular live performances.


    A bespoke four-wheel chassis was engineered to house high-torque drive motors, enabling the vehicle to pivot on its own axis and navigate the confined performance space with precision. Functional headlights and taillights were incorporated into the build, while the interior was designed to comfortably accommodate three costume performers.


    For operation, the vehicle was controlled remotely using a long-range drone control system, providing responsive and accurate movement throughout each performance. Safety remained a priority throughout the design, with emergency stop systems installed both on the vehicle and at stage level for immediate intervention if required.


    A custom EV battery system supplied power to both the drive motors and integrated lighting, delivering reliable performance while maintaining a clean, cable-free solution for the live show.

    Evolution technical were commissioned to design and deliver a custom wireless-triggered lighting control system for the KSA Pavilion's opening sequence at Expo 2025 Osaka.


    Developed in under a week, the battery-powered solution combined bespoke electronics, DMX control, and redundant triggering to provide a reliable lighting reveal for an international live event.

    The Challenge


    The opening sequence required a compact lighting control system capable of triggering multiple RGBW lighting zones without relying on existing venue infrastructure. The solution needed to be battery powered, easily transportable, quick to assemble on site, and robust enough for a live international presentation.


    With less than a week available before shipment, the system also had to be fully engineered, tested, documented, and packed for export within an exceptionally tight programme.

    The Solution


    Our Lighting and R&D teams developed a bespoke wireless lighting control platform centered around ESP32-C3 microcontrollers and CueCore2 DMX control. A custom handheld transmitter communicated wirelessly with a receiver connected to the lighting controller through opto-isolated GPIO inputs, allowing pre-programmed lighting sequences to be triggered reliably without line-of-sight restrictions.


    The entire system was designed as a modular battery-powered package incorporating power conversion, custom wiring looms, and plug-and-play connectors for rapid deployment. To maximise operational reliability during the live presentation, a secondary hardwired trigger was integrated, providing immediate manual control should wireless operation ever become unavailable.

    Outcome

    As part of the Expo Festival of Light at Expo City Dubai, AGB Events appointed Evolution Technical to deliver a fully immersive lighting and laser installation surrounding artist Khalid Shafar's sculpture.


    Designed to enhance the artwork without overshadowing it, the installation combined lighting, lasers, media playback and timecoded control to create a captivating five-minute visual experience that transformed the temporary structure into an immersive environment.

    The Challenge


    The installation required the sculpture to remain the visual focal point while surrounding audiences with synchronised lighting and laser effects. Every technical element needed to operate with frame-accurate timing, integrating lighting, lasers and audio playback into a single programmed show. The enclosed structure also demanded careful fixture placement and custom optical solutions to maximise visual impact within a compact space.

    The Solution


    Evolution designed and programmed a fully timecoded lighting show using a ChamSys lighting console integrated with QLab playback and an external sound interface for precise synchronisation. The proposed method was mocked-up at our warehouse for testing and approval by the client, before final signoff and deployment to site.


    Clay Paky XTYLOS laser fixtures were arranged around the installation and directed through custom-built reflectors, creating striking laser beams focused toward the centrepiece sculpture. Additional 5W laser systems enhanced the visual depth, while wireless Astera AX5 fixtures provided battery powered architectural colour washes across both the structure and sculpture base, where hard power was unavailable.


    Throughout the five-minute sequence, carefully programmed lighting transitions, colour palettes and laser choreography evolved through multiple visual scenes, creating an immersive experience that highlighted the sculpture while complementing the artistic narrative of the wider festival.

    For the Dubai Light Art Festival at Expo City Dubai, Evolution Technical was appointed by AGB Events to fabricate and install three large-scale public art installations by renowned Emirati artists. Each artwork combined creative vision with structural engineering, custom fabrication and integrated lighting, requiring close collaboration between artists, designers and technical specialists to bring each concept to life.

    The Challenge


    Each installation presented its own engineering and logistical requirements. Large-scale fabricated structures had to be designed for outdoor environments, safely transported to site and installed within a compressed programme. Lighting systems needed to integrate seamlessly into the artwork while remaining discreet, weather-resistant and reliable throughout the festival. Structural stability, public safety and precise installation were critical across all three pieces.

    The Solution


    Evolution fabricated and installed three bespoke artworks, each engineered to meet the artist's vision while complying with international structural and safety standards.


    Minaret 2.0 by Abdullah Al-Mullah featured a custom 1,000kg steel structure with geometric acrylic elements and reflective finishes, mounted on a two-ton counterweighted base. Integrated RGBW lighting was programmed to reflect the five daily prayer times through carefully choreographed colour transitions.


    Musk Spectre by Dr. Najat Makki consisted of seven interconnected steel forms spanning approximately 180 square metres. Wrapped in stretch tulle fabric and illuminated with RGBW lighting, the installation created immersive shadow effects while being securely anchored within engineered sand-filled foundations.


    Afterlife by Maitha Hamdan featured a six-metre-high cylindrical steel structure enclosed within a 360-degree LED light curtain, creating an immersive illuminated sculpture that transformed throughout the evening.

    For the opening ceremony of Riyadh Season 2022, Evolution Technical was commissioned to design and engineer a full-scale moving paper boat as a unique performance feature for the opening parade. The concept combined mechanical engineering with scenic fabrication, transforming a standard utility buggy into a fully operational vehicle while preserving the delicate appearance of a folded paper boat adorned with Riyadh Season branding in multiple languages.

    The Challenge


    Creating a fully drivable vehicle that convincingly resembled a lightweight paper sculpture presented a significant engineering challenge. The buggy required extensive mechanical modification while maintaining safe operation, structural integrity and precise steering. The completed structure also had to be transported from Dubai to Riyadh, assembled on site and prepared for live performance within a tight delivery schedule.

    The Solution


    Our Mechatronics team completely stripped the buggy back to its core mechanical components before designing and fabricating a bespoke supporting chassis to carry the scenic structure. The steering system was re-engineered with a custom helm, incorporating integrated steering, braking and throttle controls to provide intuitive vehicle operation.


    A lightweight scenic shell was constructed using custom-shaped hollow plastic panels mounted onto the engineered frame, recreating the appearance of a folded paper boat while remaining durable enough for live operation. Following transportation to Riyadh, the team carried out final assembly, testing and on-site engineering adjustments to ensure the vehicle performed flawlessly during the opening ceremony.

    ProLab Digital appointed Evolution Scenic & Evolution Technical to create a signature attraction for its store in Viva Riyadh Mall, a large-scale automated installation designed to capture shoppers' attention and showcase the brand's creativity.


    The concept centered around a fully automated blooming flower that would open its petals to reveal a mannequin before closing again in a continuous, synchronized sequence. The installation combined scenic fabrication, mechanical engineering and custom automation to create an engaging visual centerpiece within the retail environment.

    The Challenge


    The installation needed to deliver smooth, reliable operation throughout daily retail hours while maintaining a visually elegant movement that enhanced the customer experience.


    The mechanical system had to support large moving petals with precise, repeatable motion while remaining robust enough for continuous operation. Ease of transportation, installation and maintenance were also key project requirements, alongside intuitive controls that allowed store staff to operate the display with minimal training.


    Achieving reliable automation without compromising the aesthetic design required extensive  research and development.

    The Solution


    Evolution Technical designed and engineered a bespoke automated flower system powered by a Linak DK-6430 medical-grade actuator, delivering 1200N of force to provide smooth, controlled petal movement.


    A custom electronic control system built around an Atmega328P microcontroller automated the complete opening and closing sequence. A wired remote control with integrated LED indicators enabled operators to start, stop and pause the display, while a miniature OLED screen provided real-time actuator status and system diagnostics.


    To simplify transportation and installation, the system incorporated aviation connectors that allowed modular assembly while reducing installation time and eliminating connection errors.


    Extensive research and development refined the mechanical performance of the installation. Counterweights were engineered to balance the petals, limit switches ensured accurate movement, and the operating sequence was programmed to remain open for approximately 2.5 minutes before closing for 30 seconds, repeating continuously until manually stopped. A dedicated pause function also allowed performers and technicians to safely adjust the installation during setup and rehearsals.
