Evolution technical were commissioned to design and deliver a custom wireless-triggered lighting control system for the KSA Pavilion's opening sequence at Expo 2025 Osaka.

Developed in under a week, the battery-powered solution combined bespoke electronics, DMX control, and redundant triggering to provide a reliable lighting reveal for an international live event.

The Challenge

The opening sequence required a compact lighting control system capable of triggering multiple RGBW lighting zones without relying on existing venue infrastructure. The solution needed to be battery powered, easily transportable, quick to assemble on site, and robust enough for a live international presentation.

With less than a week available before shipment, the system also had to be fully engineered, tested, documented, and packed for export within an exceptionally tight programme.

The Solution

Our Lighting and R&D teams developed a bespoke wireless lighting control platform centered around ESP32-C3 microcontrollers and CueCore2 DMX control. A custom handheld transmitter communicated wirelessly with a receiver connected to the lighting controller through opto-isolated GPIO inputs, allowing pre-programmed lighting sequences to be triggered reliably without line-of-sight restrictions.

The entire system was designed as a modular battery-powered package incorporating power conversion, custom wiring looms, and plug-and-play connectors for rapid deployment. To maximise operational reliability during the live presentation, a secondary hardwired trigger was integrated, providing immediate manual control should wireless operation ever become unavailable.

For the 13th World Trade Organization (WTO) Ministerial Conference, Evolution Technical was entrusted with delivering a complete audio and lighting package for the MC13 Ceremonial Gala Dinner at Qasr Al Watan, Abu Dhabi.

The prestigious event welcomed high-level international delegates for an evening of networking, cultural performances and formal dining, reflecting the UAE's reputation for hosting world-class diplomatic events. Evolution's role was to provide a seamless technical production that supported live performances and speeches while complementing the grandeur of one of the country's most iconic venues.

The Challenge

Delivering technical production within the Presidential Palace required meticulous planning, strict adherence to security protocols and logistical coordination across the Evolution Ecosystem.

The production needed to provide high-quality audio reinforcement, elegant architectural lighting and reliable communications across the venue, while ensuring uninterrupted support for speeches, performances and event operations.

One of the project's greatest challenges was the limited load-in and load-out schedule. Equipment had to be delivered, installed, tested and removed within tightly controlled access windows without compromising production quality or operational efficiency.

The Solution

Evolution Technical deployed a comprehensive site-wide lighting system built around a Litec ground support box truss, providing the flexibility and coverage required across the gala environment while maintaining the venue's architectural integrity.

Audio reinforcement was delivered using a complete L-Acoustics sound system, providing exceptional clarity for speeches, live performances and background ambience throughout the evening. An integrated RF system ensured reliable wireless communications for performers and presenters, supporting seamless stage operations.

To coordinate the event efficiently, Evolution implemented a site-wide communications network that enabled precise show calling and technical coordination across multiple teams.

To overcome the venue's restricted installation schedule, the project team adopted a rolling 12-hour shift strategy, allowing equipment to be delivered, installed, tested and commissioned within the allocated access periods. Throughout the project, the team successfully managed stringent security procedures while maintaining the highest standards of technical delivery.

Evolution Technical were appointed to design and deliver a comprehensive AV solution supporting multiple event environments for the Al Wathba Tribal Parade, a recurring staple in the UAE event calendar. Evolution's scope included the main parade arena, VIP hospitality, back-of-house operations and parade participants.

The project required a scalable, fully networked production system capable of delivering reliable performance across the entire event site. By integrating professional audio, LED displays and signal distribution into one centralised infrastructure, Evolution provided seamless technical support for one of Abu Dhabi's prestigious cultural celebrations.

The Challenge

Delivering technical production across multiple event zones required a robust AV infrastructure capable of supporting different operational requirements simultaneously.

The main stage demanded high-quality but also discreet and low profile audio alongside large-format visual presentation for performances and ceremonies, while the VIP hospitality areas required independent audio systems with dedicated control. Reliable wireless communications, networked signal distribution and safe cable management were essential to ensure uninterrupted operation throughout the event.

Coordinating multiple technical environments from a centralised infrastructure required detailed planning, efficient system design and dependable network integration.

The Solution

Evolution Technical designed and installed a fully integrated AV system including 576 sqm of flown outdoor LED, providing dynamic visual support for presentations, live content and event programming.

The main arena was equipped with a dual L-Acoustics KARA ground-stacked audio system for both sides of the parade ground, complemented by L-Acoustics X12 front fills, delivering consistent coverage across audience and VIP viewing areas. The system was powered by LA12X amplifiers and mixed using a Yamaha CL5 digital console connected to a Yamaha Rio Dante stage box, providing flexible signal management and precise audio control.

Wireless audio was supported by Shure RF microphone systems, while a Luminex network infrastructure distributed audio and control signals across the site with reliability and redundancy.

Dedicated AV systems were installed within the VIP hospitality using HK Audio Contour Array ground stacks. Audio distribution was delivered via Luminex fibre infrastructure and Neutrik DLine Dante drop boxes, with local control provided through a Yamaha QL1 digital console.

To ensure safe pedestrian movement throughout the venue, Evolution installed a Litec truss bridge system to carry cable runs over key walkways, maintaining a clean site layout while protecting critical infrastructure.

The result was a fully networked production environment offering centralized system management with independent control across multiple event zones.

As part of the build-up to COP28, Evolution Technical was appointed to deliver the complete audio, video and lighting and technical production package for the Global Faith Leaders Gala Dinner at Emirates Palace, Abu Dhabi.

Held under the patronage of ADNOC following the Global Faith Leaders' Summit, the event brought together distinguished international guests for an evening of dialogue, networking and cultural exchange. Evolution's role was to provide a seamless technical production that reflected the significance, prestige and diplomatic nature of the occasion.

The Challenge

Delivering technical production for a high-profile diplomatic gathering required exceptional attention to detail, reliability and presentation.

The production needed to provide clear speech reinforcement for distinguished guests, elegant architectural lighting that complemented the venue, and discreet technical infrastructure that enhanced the atmosphere without distracting from the event itself.

Every element of the AVL system had to remain robust throughout the evening, supporting formal proceedings while maintaining the refined ambience expected within one of the UAE's most prestigious venues.

The Solution

Evolution Technical designed and delivered a fully integrated AVL solution tailored to the unique requirements of the gala dinner.

Audio reinforcement was centered around a L-Acoustics Syva system with Syva Low extensions providing the main PA coverage, complemented by L-Acoustics 5XT loudspeakers for ambient fill throughout the venue. The system was powered by LA12X amplifiers, delivering exceptional clarity for speeches and programme content. HK Audio floor wedges provided discreet stage monitoring, while Shure RF wireless microphone systems ensured reliable speech reinforcement and presenter mobility.

Lighting was designed to enhance the elegance of the venue using a combination of Astera Titan Tubes, AX5 and AX3 fixtures alongside Robe, SGM P5 and Chauvet lighting systems. All fixtures were programmed and controlled using a ChamSys MagicQ70 lighting console with Swisson Wireless DMX, providing flexible and dependable wireless lighting control throughout the event.

Lighting towers were constructed using Litec Varitower structures, providing the required height and fixture positioning while maintaining a clean, unobtrusive appearance within the venue.

The result was a cohesive technical production where audio, lighting and structural elements worked seamlessly together to support the event's diplomatic and interfaith significance.
