For the Dubai Light Art Festival at Expo City Dubai, Evolution Technical was appointed by AGB Events to fabricate and install three large-scale public art installations by renowned Emirati artists. Each artwork combined creative vision with structural engineering, custom fabrication and integrated lighting, requiring close collaboration between artists, designers and technical specialists to bring each concept to life.

The Challenge

Each installation presented its own engineering and logistical requirements. Large-scale fabricated structures had to be designed for outdoor environments, safely transported to site and installed within a compressed programme. Lighting systems needed to integrate seamlessly into the artwork while remaining discreet, weather-resistant and reliable throughout the festival. Structural stability, public safety and precise installation were critical across all three pieces.

The Solution

Evolution fabricated and installed three bespoke artworks, each engineered to meet the artist's vision while complying with international structural and safety standards.

Minaret 2.0 by Abdullah Al-Mullah featured a custom 1,000kg steel structure with geometric acrylic elements and reflective finishes, mounted on a two-ton counterweighted base. Integrated RGBW lighting was programmed to reflect the five daily prayer times through carefully choreographed colour transitions.

Musk Spectre by Dr. Najat Makki consisted of seven interconnected steel forms spanning approximately 180 square metres. Wrapped in stretch tulle fabric and illuminated with RGBW lighting, the installation created immersive shadow effects while being securely anchored within engineered sand-filled foundations.

Afterlife by Maitha Hamdan featured a six-metre-high cylindrical steel structure enclosed within a 360-degree LED light curtain, creating an immersive illuminated sculpture that transformed throughout the evening.

Hosted inside a purpose-built temporary structure, the event combined executive presentations, brand storytelling and networking in a premium setting.

The Challenge

Transforming a temporary venue into a polished executive event space required far more than installing audiovisual equipment. Every production element had to work together to create an environment that felt permanent, professional and aligned with the SailGP brand.

Evolution Technical were appointed to design and deliver a comprehensive AV solution supporting multiple event environments for the Al Wathba Tribal Parade, a recurring staple in the UAE event calendar. Evolution's scope included the main parade arena, VIP hospitality, back-of-house operations and parade participants.

The project required a scalable, fully networked production system capable of delivering reliable performance across the entire event site. Delivering technical production across multiple event zones required a robust AV infrastructure capable of supporting different operational requirements simultaneously.

The main stage demanded high-quality but also discreet and low profile audio alongside large-format visual presentation for performances and ceremonies, while the VIP hospitality areas required independent audio systems with dedicated control. Reliable wireless communications, networked signal distribution and safe cable management were essential to ensure uninterrupted operation throughout the event.

Coordinating multiple technical environments from a centralised infrastructure required detailed planning, efficient system design and dependable network integration.

The Solution

Evolution Technical designed and installed a fully integrated AV system including 576 sqm of flown outdoor LED, providing dynamic visual support for presentations, live content and event programming.

The main arena was equipped with a dual L-Acoustics KARA ground-stacked audio system for both sides of the parade ground, complemented by L-Acoustics X12 front fills, delivering consistent coverage across audience and VIP viewing areas. The system was powered by LA12X amplifiers and mixed using a Yamaha CL5 digital console connected to a Yamaha Rio Dante stage box, providing flexible signal management and precise audio control.

Wireless audio was supported by Shure RF microphone systems, while a Luminex network infrastructure distributed audio and control signals across the site with reliability and redundancy.

Dedicated AV systems were installed within the VIP hospitality using HK Audio Contour Array ground stacks. Audio distribution was delivered via Luminex fibre infrastructure and Neutrik DLine Dante drop boxes, with local control provided through a Yamaha QL1 digital console.

To ensure safe pedestrian movement throughout the venue, Evolution installed a Litec truss bridge system to carry cable runs over key walkways, maintaining a clean site layout while protecting critical infrastructure.

The result was a fully networked production environment offering centralized system management with independent control across multiple event zones.

At COP28 in Dubai, Evolution Technical was appointed by Proud Robinson to provide a complete audio, video and lighting solution for the EY exhibition stand.

The project required two distinct technical environments: a professional presentation area designed for corporate communication, and an immersive room that engaged visitors through synchronized multimedia content. Each space demanded a tailored AVL solution that balanced performance, reliability and integration with the stand design.

The Challenge

The exhibition stand needed to accommodate both formal presentations and immersive brand storytelling within a busy exhibition environment.

The presentation space required high-quality audio and visual performance while overcoming ambient noise from the exhibition hall. At the same time, the immersive room needed to deliver a fully synchronised multimedia experience that surrounded visitors with dynamic video and spatial audio.

All environments had to operate reliably throughout COP28 while remaining intuitive for event operators.

The Solution

Evolution Technical designed and installed a complete AVL system tailored to the different functional requirements of each space.

The presentation area featured a 96-inch display supporting PowerPoint presentations and multimedia playback. Audio reinforcement was provided by L-Acoustics 5XT loudspeakers discreetly integrated into the stand walls, delivering clear and even coverage without compromising the stands design. To overcome background noise from the exhibition hall, a wireless tour guide transmitter system was incorporated as a secondary audio feed from the main console, ensuring presentations remained clear for attendees.

The area was illuminated using CCT Scena Fresnel fixtures, providing consistent, presenter-friendly lighting throughout live sessions.

Within the immersive room, five portrait-mounted LED displays created a wrap-around visual experience, complemented by a 5.1 L-Acoustics surround sound system that enhanced audience immersion. Multimedia playback was managed through a Watchout media server, with content triggered remotely via a wireless tablet, providing operators with flexible and responsive show control.

By integrating professional presentation technology with immersive multimedia systems, Evolution Technical delivered a versatile exhibition environment that supported both corporate messaging and engaging visitor experiences.

For the 12th Season of the Hamdan International Photography Award (HIPA), Evolution Technical was commissioned to design and deliver an original audio, video and lighting (AVL) concept that elevated the prestige of the awards while keeping photography at the heart of the production.

Hosted at Dubai Opera, the ceremony required an advanced stage solution that seamlessly combined automation, video, lighting and audio into a single, immersive production. Working in collaboration with TECS, Evolution developed a technically sophisticated show environment that transformed the venue while supporting the ceremony's creative vision.

The Challenge

The production required complex technical systems to be integrated into a refined stage design without distracting from the award ceremony itself.

A dynamic stage environment was needed to support multiple award presentations, performances and visual transitions while maintaining flawless synchronisation between automation, media playback and lighting. The installation also had to work within stage area of Dubai Opera, requiring careful engineering of the rigging and automation systems.

Delivering smooth, repeatable movement of large LED screens while maintaining precise show timing demanded detailed planning and specialist technical expertise.

The Solution

Working alongside TECS, Evolution Technical engineered a bespoke automation system that enabled LED screens to travel on both the X and Y axis (stage left to stage right and upstage to down stage) creating a dynamic and adaptable stage environment throughout the ceremony.

A large central hero LED wall formed the visual focal point of the production. The complete system was rigged from Dubai Opera's mothergrid and fly bars, supported by Litec truss, GIS hoists and dedicated automation rails to deliver smooth, controlled movement.

To further enhance the scenic design, Evolution fabricated a custom LED-framed stage arch, providing dramatic visual transitions and full blackout capability controlled directly by the lighting team, whilst being supported by GIS hoists and Litec truss.

Content playback was managed using Disguise media servers, with timecode synchronisation ensuring seamless coordination between automation, video playback and lighting cues. Lighting control was delivered from GrandMA2 consoles at front of house, while DiGiCo consoles managed the event's audio system, providing exceptional clarity for presenters, performances and award announcements.

The result was a fully integrated production where automation, lighting, audio and video operated as one unified technical system.

Created as an exclusive private celebration, "Project Sourfish" brought together internationally renowned performers for an evening of live entertainment in a bespoke event environment.

Every element of the production was designed to deliver a premium but intimate guest experience while meeting the technical expectations of A-list artists and their touring teams.
